"Bubbly Walrus” was featured on NewsWatch as part of its monthly AppWatch, which takes a look at the latest and coolest applications on the market for iOS, Android, and Windows. Joe Toohey, the host of AppWatch and technology expert, conducted the app review and shared with viewers how this is an entertaining and educational game.
The best games to play on smartphones are the ones that get users to actually think. Instead of users killing brain cells with a video game that just absorbs attention, why not exercise the brain with some problem solving? Well Bubbly Walrus does exactly that.
With a high quality game design and gameplay, Bubbly Walrus emphasizes the use of mathematics to beat levels. The game evolves as users beat levels. When users start on Level 1, the object is to solve multiplication problems by dragging down bubbles until they're all gone. In a later level users turn over rocks by solving multiplication problems. Turning over each rock reveals a part of a drawing – kind of like Indiana Jones. Users beat the level once you've finished the drawing.
As the player move further into the game, the difficulty increases and the player’s smarts are challenged. Sure the game is great for kids because it teaches and tests them on their math skills, but it's also great for adults. There are over 52 levels for users to test their skills individually or to challenge friends. Bubbly Walrus is a fun game and it’s available on iOS and Android devices – both phones and tablets - for $1.99.
