Bluelounge Wins Dismissal of Patent Infringement Lawsuit
Pasadena, California (PRWEB) May 01, 2015 -- Bluelounge Pte. Ltd., an award-winning, international design studio recognized for its clever products that solve everyday problems through innovation, announced today that a patent infringement lawsuit has been dismissed “with prejudice” by the United District Court for the District of Utah in Case No. 2:15-cv-87-DN. The lawsuit, brought by Denmel Holdings, LLC and Melanie Reah, against the studio alleged infringement of United States Patent 6,982,542. These plaintiffs have asserted this patent against a multitude of entities that sell or distribute charging stations for mobile telephones, PDAs, or the like.
Bluelounge counterclaimed for declaratory judgment of non-infringement and invalidity of the patent-in-suit and sought an award of costs and attorney fees. Within two months of the initial complaint, the district court closed this case on April 15, 2015. The plaintiffs recovered nothing from Bluelounge as a result of this lawsuit.
“Our Bluelounge team has worked hard to create elegant and sophisticated products that have attracted international acclaim and merited a global intellectual property portfolio,” said Dominic Symons, Director of Bluelounge Pte. Ltd. “We will continue to defend ourselves, as well as enforce all our intellectual property rights.”
Bluelounge Pte. Ltd. is represented worldwide by the law firm of Decisis LLP, which engaged local counsel Steven Rinehart in this case.
