Telematics executive to explore new markets for company's expanding capabilities

Guidepoint Systems has appointed telematics industry executive Ken Wiesner as Vice President of Business Strategy Development. Wiesner joins the company with more than 15 years of experience in the automotive connectivity space and will work to create new avenues to leverage Guidepoint's hardware, service and telematics platforms.

Wiesner joins Guidepoint after two years as an executive member of California-based Leadstick, Inc., a provider of products and services that enable remote monitoring of applications in fixed environments and mobile resources. He also realized significant accomplishments as CEO of Aircept—a pioneer in Location-Based Services (LBS)—and later as CEO of hardware / software supplier Enfotrace. During his tenure with both companies, he achieved substantial sales increases and furthered product development despite a slowly evolving LBS market.

As VP of Business Strategy Development for Guidepoint, Wiesner will explore new vertical markets for Guidepoint's robust hardware / software / service solution, which features the multifaceted Guidepoint SVL in-vehicle connectivity module. Using a combination of GPS, cellular and in-vehicle networking, the SVL enables multisource, two-way communication to deliver vehicle diagnostics, voice and data between the vehicle and custom mobile or desktop applications. For a turnkey service and hardware model, the SVL connects with Guidepoint's U.S.-based call center to provide live support.
