100+ Organizations Launch Nationwide Campaign to Engage LGBTQ People in a Conversation About Their Future
BOSTON, MA (PRWEB) May 04, 2015 -- As the country awaits the Supreme Court’s ruling on marriage equality, over 100 national, local and state-based LGBTQ organizations across the country today launch Our Tomorrow, a grassroots and digital campaign designed to engage LGBTQ people in a national conversation about their future. The campaign encourages LGBTQ individuals and friends across the country to share their hopes, fears and ideas in their own words.
Our Tomorrow’s digital hub, http://www.shareourtomorrow.org, offers LGBTQ individuals and friends the opportunity to take part in an open-ended conversation about their future.
“Our Tomorrow represents a unique opportunity for a major social movement to initiate a national public dialogue to generate inspiration, information and ideas for its future,” said Our Tomorrow campaign manager Lee Swislow. “This conversation will help create a bigger, bolder, more inclusive movement that speaks to the hopes and needs of the full diversity of the LGBTQ community.”
In conjunction with today’s launch, Our Tomorrow also released a campaign video, “Share Your Voice, Shape Our Future”, featuring a diverse group of individuals sharing their hopes, fears and ideas for the future of the LGBTQ community.
“Unlike traditional surveys and public opinion polls, Our Tomorrow is an open-ended conversation allowing thousands of LGBTQ individuals to share their hopes, fears and ideas in their own words,” said Masen Davis, Our Tomorrow’s outreach director. “Our Tomorrow is dedicated to engaging the full diversity of the LGBTQ community — from all parts of the country and all walks of life — in helping to shape our future.”
“From the nation’s largest LGBTQ organizations to regional and local groups, we are joining together to launch this opportunity and take part in a dialogue about our collective road forward,” said Curtis Lipscomb, Executive Director of LGBT Detroit and one of Our Tomorrow’s more than 100 partner organizations nationwide. “With the marriage case now before the US Supreme Court, Our Tomorrow comes at a pivotal moment and I’m excited about the opportunity it provides us to help shape the future of the LGBT movement authentically.”
