Scanio Moving Volunteers For New York Cares
New York, NY (PRWEB) May 06, 2015 -- Scanio Moving, the New York City moving company, recently joined forces with Halsted Properties to make a big difference for New York City residents.
The opportunity to help those in need was the brainchild of Elaine Tross, a broker for Halsted Properties who works out of the company’s Park Avenue office. Tross wanted to make a difference in the community, and decided to put her efforts toward collecting coats for New York Cares, a New York City based organization that - among many services - helps to distribute winter coats to those in need.
Tross asked Scanio Moving and Storage to help by donating boxes and moving services for the whopping 5,000 coats collected by Halsted Properties. Scanio provided wardrobe boxes for all of the donated coats along with a dedicated moving truck and driver, who visited each of the city’s Halsted Properties offices to collect donations and then delivered the donations to New York Cares.
New York Cares is New York City’s largest volunteer management organization. Their annual coat drive provides New Yorkers warm coats every winter thanks to the generous donations of fellow New Yorkers. In 2014, the drive collected 75,005 coats.
Scanio Moving and Storage was founded in 1941 as a family owned and operated New York City based moving and storage company. Today, the company serves the greater New York City area and offers services in commercial moving, residential moving, long and short distance moves, international moving, packing and unpacking, storage, and white glove moving and storage.
