VisualSP App Provides Context-Based Inline Help Providing Mobile-First, Cloud-First Support to SharePoint users in Office 365
Plainfield, IL (PRWEB) May 05, 2015 -- VisualSP releases new features in the VisualSP app which provides context-based inline help to SharePoint users in Office 365. The company will be demonstrating these new features at the Microsoft Ignite conference this week in Chicago, IL.
Office 365 is an effective platform for companies of all sizes to provide collaboration and messaging services to teams throughout their organization. SharePoint Online is a big component of Office 365. Yet, many users who come on SharePoint Online are looking at the system for the first time. And, if they aren’t looking at it for the first time, it’s not uncommon for users to be slightly confused. SharePoint Online provides a different experience than what users are used to from SharePoint On Premises. Therefore they often are not exactly sure where to start, what to do, and how to accomplish the team or organizational goals on their SharePoint site.
Luckily, VisualSP has created an innovative, effective way to help users be more efficient using SharePoint Online. The VisualSP app provides context-based, inline help to users directly in the SharePoint online environment. The inline help lets users hover over a section of the page and discover the help that's available for the user within the particular section of SharePoint in which they are working.
The type of support is delivered to the user in the form of short video tutorials, screenshots, reference documents and links to additional resources. Help item examples include things such as:
> how to configure and use the side bar or the top link bar menu?
> how to manage documents
> how to check in, check out and create various versions of a document
> how to manage events on the calendar and share those events with others
> how to manage and issue tasks and post on discussion boards
and much more
“There is an immense amount of functionality that's offered on the SharePoint platform,” explains Asif Rehmani, SharePoint Server MVP, MCT and CEO of VisualSP. “Our app helps the users discover and understand how to make the best use of that functionality in context and on demand, providing the support they need when they need the help.”
VisualSP’s goal with the app is to help increase adoption of the SharePoint Online platform within organizations, resulting in a better return on investment. The company will be demonstrating the VisualSP app for SharePoint online as well as the full SharePoint Help System solution for SharePoint On Premises at the Microsoft Ignite conference (Booth 13) in Chicago, IL from May 4-8, 2015.
