Remington Outdoor Company, the nation’s largest family of firearm and ammunition manufacturing companies, and Orchid Advisors, the only management consultancy dedicated to the firearms industry, announce a national firearms manufacturing compliance education program. The “Orchid Firearms Manufacturers and Subcontractors Program” will make world-class compliance education and training programs easily accessible to small and mid-sized manufacturers, their subcontractors and other supply chain partners through a series of regional seminars.

“We are very pleased that Remington, a company that reaches across the industry, has chosen to sponsor this nationwide initiative, which will bring top quality compliance education to small and mid-sized firearm and ammunition manufacturers,” says Jon Rydberg, CEO of Orchid Advisors. Eight regions have been confirmed for 2015 and early 2016 – Raleigh, Columbus, Denver, Austin, Phoenix, Los Angeles, and Tampa, with the program launch scheduled in Hartford, CT for manufacturers in New England, New York, New Jersey and other states nearby.

Joe Bolmarcich, Director of Compliance at Remington adds, “For under $150 per person, this critical sector of the industry will be able to access the same expert knowledge and advice that is available to the larger companies. Remington and its industry peers in the manufacturing, distribution and retail space rely on products generated or serviced by second tier manufacturers. Supporting the compliant and profitable development of their businesses is beneficial to them, to Remington and to the broader industry as a whole.”

One-day manufacturer and subcontractor seminars will provide participants up-to-date information about critical topics that include:

Key process areas and internal controls: Receiving, packing, shipping, serialization, scrapping, assembly, molding, procurement, imports and others;

Applicable regulations delivered in “every day operations language” and where to go for assistance;

Ten key concepts in each of the following regulatory areas: ATF, Export, and Import;

Selected Federal Firearms Licensing (FFL) obligations and record keeping;

Paper and electronic A&D technology that supports compliant operations, shipping, receiving, serialization and scrapping; and

Understanding how a subcontractor can use compliance as an asset to attract more large company business.
