Handwriting provides a natural way to enter content on touch-enabled devices in any user environment. We are excited to offer this input option to developers and consumers.
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA AND NANTES, FRANCE (PRWEB) May 05, 2015
MyScript®, market leader in accurate, high-performance handwriting recognition and digital ink management technology, announces the release of MyScript Stylus for iOS. This handwriting input panel application offers a user-friendly alternative to onscreen and physical keyboards (patents pending). The core technology featured in the app is also available to developers who want to include handwriting as an input method in applications for tablets, smart phones, and other devices in the Internet of Things.
MyScript Stylus is an interactive input panel that allows print and cursive handwritten text entry using a stylus or fingertip. The auto scrolling input panel allows users to write in any application including email, text documents, calendar, web browser, SMS, MMS, etc. As the user writes, the handwritten text is digitized instantly.
Besides the ease of use, accuracy and speed that MyScript Stylus provides, it also offers a suite of robust editing capabilities. App users can easily edit and correct content using intuitive gestures to split, join, overwrite, and erase characters, words or sentences.
MyScript Stylus for iOS follows the release of MyScript Stack, an input panel for iOS which allows users to continuously and quickly write characters on top of each other, making short text entry convenient and efficient in situations where traditional text input is difficult.
MyScript Stylus is the latest innovation from MyScript Labs, the most advanced research center in the world devoted to digital ink technology. The application has been created to demonstrate MyScript core technology which is recognized as the most advanced handwriting recognition engine in the market. Supporting the language needs of over 90% of the world’s population, MyScript has been recognized with numerous industry, academic, and customer awards for its accuracy. MyScript Stylus for iOS is available now on the App Store. An Android version (MyScript Stylus Beta) is available on Google Play.
"We are seeing increased demand for digital ink technology as users are looking for alternatives beyond keyboard and voice to enter information in a way that best fits the use case,” said Denis Manceau, Director of Product Management, MyScript. “Handwriting provides a natural way to enter content on touch-enabled devices in any user environment. We are excited to offer this input option to developers and consumers.”
For device manufacturers and developers, MyScript input panel technology can be integrated as a standalone application or in complement to an existing input method. Developers can easily evaluate and implement the technology by utilizing the Application Toolkit available on the MyScript Developer Program web site. The tools are designed to seamlessly integrate handwriting into developer applications, offering a wide range of customization while significantly reducing development time to market.
