New Research from SPS and AIIM Reveals Organizations’ Optimism Toward Expanding Document Process Outsourcing
New York, NY (PRWEB) May 05, 2015 -- In today’s increasingly competitive business environment, outsourcing continues to be a mainstream, productivity-enhancing strategy utilized by leading organizations worldwide. In a new whitepaper sponsored by the Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM) and Swiss Post Solutions (SPS), an innovative leader in digitization solutions, research shows that 57% of respondents are widely in support of outsourcing their organization’s document process outsourcing (DPO) work.
According to the report, participants named a mix of mailroom activities, outbound printing, invoice/ Accounts Payable processing, and scanning projects as viable processes to outsource to DPO providers. As expected, cost savings was the biggest driver (75%) for organizations seeking to outsource business processes, followed by the ability to remain focused on their core business activities.
The study revealed that organizations are apprehensive (60%) when it comes to offshoring the same processes, despite clear cost savings. The key reason cited is data privacy, indicating that providers must demonstrate their ability to deliver solutions via a highly secure process. Not surprisingly, engaging an experienced outsourcing provider for support and guidance was noted as a mitigating factor for organizations concerned with data privacy and security issues.

In fact, almost 20% of survey participants plan to increase their domestic DPO spend, and an additional 7% are looking to expand their near- and offshoring outsourcing budgets.
