The Network, Inc., a leading provider of governance, risk and compliance (GRC) solutions, announced today a new training course, “Careful Communications – Being Clear and Careful.” This course provides guidance to employees on delivering the right content in their business communications and using the appropriate vehicles to deliver those messages.

“Raising sensitivity to the risks of careless communication and creating clarity around what information an employee can share, to whom and through what media, are critical for protecting both the employee and the company at large,” Julie Moriarty, Vice President of Training & Communications at The Network, said. “Careless communications can damage the competitive position of a company, especially given how quickly messages can spread with the use of social media, email and texting. An employee may not realize how a message may be perceived or how it may impact the company and its future. This course provides practical guidance that is increasingly needed given advances in technology, rising cyber-security risks and an increasingly open and casual attitude of employees regarding sharing information.”

Today, communication happens 24/7; whether via conversation, email, text, social media or other vehicle, information sharing is continuous. In this environment, your organization must ensure that communications are appropriate, responsible and productive. Just one negative or misinterpreted message can damage your organization’s reputation and its bottom line.

A shorter Learning Block offers a brief overview of the topic that can be used as a lesson in a Code of Conduct course, or on its own, as a short training or communication.

“This course is a clear example of how The Network aims to help our customers educate their employees above and beyond the law to further mitigate not just legal risk, but also reputational risk,” Luis Ramos, CEO of The Network, added.
