We recognize that each of our clients is unique, with its own set of individual needs, and, while we work with each of them to create communication strategies that exceed their expectations, we are especially proud of the work we did with Melissa’s House
COLUMBUS, Ohio (PRWEB) May 08, 2015
Each year, the Central Ohio chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) honors exceptional public relations (PR) activities from a diverse mix of businesses, industries and backgrounds throughout central Ohio. This year's theme – Evolution in PR – highlights leading and seasoned PR professionals in the Central Ohio community. Fleisher Communications Group (FCG) is pleased to announce its selection as the 2015 winner in the Multifaceted Campaign category for Community Relations.
“It is a very special honor to be recognized by PRSA for the recent campaign we created and implemented for Melissa’s House, a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the residences of adults living with mental illness,” said FCG founder Marcy Fleisher. “We recognize that each of our clients is unique, with its own set of individual needs, and, while we work with each of them to create communication strategies that exceed their expectations, we are especially proud of the work we did with Melissa’s House at a critical juncture in the organization’s journey.”
FCG has spearheaded the PR and marketing programs for Melissa’s House since 2011, working as a critical partner in building awareness and successfully conveying the overwhelming need for warm, comfortable homes for adults living with mental illness. By 2014, Melissa’s House had raised several hundred thousand dollars, but was still far short of the funds needed to build and maintain the residential facility that was envisioned by its founders. A new leadership team was also in place, and they decided that, instead of building its own house, Melissa’s House could partner with already existing mental health housing organizations to update and renew existing group residences.
FCG developed and implemented a plan to roll out the new strategy and change in leadership to selected audiences over a seven-day period. The leadership team shared the news through a series of carefully crafted news announcements, events, and a social media campaign.
Melissa’s House co-chairman Billy Goldberg said, “The new direction of Melissa House is positively impacting the people in our community. The work performed by FCG allowed us to have a seamless transition to the new leadership team, and was paramount in successfully communicating our shift in tactics. FCG’s strategic plan was critical to the organization’s future.”
FCG, along with other award recipients, were recognized at the 2015 PRism Awards dinner held at The Columbus Athenaeum on Thursday, May 7.
