Tempe-based homebuilder one of only six nationally to win award

Fulton Homes has been recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as a 2015 ENERGY STAR “Partner of the Year.” The Tempe-based homebuilder was presented with the New Home Builder Award in front of more than 900 people at a gathering in Washington, D.C. on April 20. Fulton Homes joined 128 other winner from top companies such as General Motors, Merck, Toyota, Boeing and The Home Depot.

Fulton Homes was one of six Homebuilders to win the award in the U.S. and one of two in Arizona. The builder was honored because of its dedication to building energy-saving homes. Last year, Fulton Homes built 381 ENERGY STAR homes, and had built more than 2,500 since 2008. Other energy-savings moves that Fulton Home has instituted include:

  •     Starting the EPA’s Indoor AirPlus program in all of its homes, providing additional comprehensive health protections for homeowners.
  •     Added a new Compact Duct Design to reduce tonnage in A/C units, saving buyers thousands of dollars.
  •     Trained employees on ENERGY STAR programs at its innovate online training portal at the Fulton Homes Learning Center.
  •     Launched a TV campaign through the Phoenix Suns and other local media to call attention to ENERGY STAR homes.

“Accepting this prestigious national award on behalf of Fulton Homes was an awesome experience,” said Dennis Webb, Fulton Homes’ vice president of operations. “To be recognized alongside some of the top companies in the country like, Pepsi, General Motors, Samsung and Boeing makes it even better. Here is another example where Fulton Homes has separated itself for the rest of the pack.”

“For years Fulton Homes has been dedicated to making the Valley’s best and most energy-efficient homes,” said Fulton Homes CEO Doug Fulton. “By building ENERGY STAR homes, we are helping more U.S. homebuyers purchase homes that offer improved comfort and lower utility bills, while also helping fight climate change. It is an honor to be name as an ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year. “

“Fulton Homes has demonstrated a strong commitment to building energy-efficient homes that save American homeowners energy and money,” said EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy. “Fulton Homes has built a strong foundation for constructing energy-efficient homes, while reducing our nation’s greenhouse gas emissions that fuel climate change.”
