Newly Released Book Makes Advaita Vedanta Accessible to Modern Readers
(PRWEB) May 08, 2015 -- The challenges of modern daily life provide many opportunities for spiritual growth. "Universal Freedom" by Dr. Manfred Eichhoff, alias Elios, shows modern readers how the ancient wisdom of Advaita Vedanta can help them benefit from these opportunities. Advaita Vedanta is a philosophy of non-duality and a supreme path of knowledge of Hinduism. Universal Freedom was first published in 2012 by J. Kamphausen Publishing House in Germany, and is now available in English.
Adi Shankaracharya, a Hindu philosopher, who is considered to be one of the greatest Hindu saints, systemized Advaita Vedanta in the eighth and ninth centuries. This path of knowledge reveals the inner unity of initiatory traditions in the West and the East. Universal Freedom uses concrete examples from everyday life to illustrate some of the main features of these powerful teachings. They are presented in such a way that the teachings become tangible for the reader. The book contains many hints for adapting the original wisdom and applying it to one´s personal daily life. It also contains a glossary of the central terms.
Universal Freedom author, Elios, says, “The main problem that prevents us from embarking on an authentic spiritual path intensively and with full responsibility, with total and loving dedication, is one particular aspect of humans. It is our ego, the little self. Vedanta shows us, with unrivaled clarity, the exact structure of the framework of the human being.”

About the Author
Since early childhood Elios experienced striking spiritual occurrences. After completing his formal academic studies, his thirst for truth led him to study several Eastern and Western traditions. Practicing these teachings then led Elios to a mature stage, one that enabled him to gain an intuitive access to Advaita Vedanta. With the blessing of his master, Raphael, since the end of the 90’s Elios has taught traditional Advaita Vedanta in the style in which it was systemized by Adi Shankaracharya in the eighth and ninth centuries. In this approach, the individual person with his or her modern life practice and challenges is at the center.
