Join the San Francisco SPCA for Cocktails and Fashion Fun at “Dogs on the Catwalk”
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) May 06, 2015 -- The San Francisco SPCA invites you to the inaugural Dogs on the Catwalk cocktail party and fashion show. The festivities take place Friday, May 29, 5pm – 10pm at the SF SPCA’s Mission Campus (201 Alabama Street).
Enjoy a cocktail bar and delicious vegan and vegetarian food trucks (Hella Vegan Eats, Manna Japanese Comfort Food and Mozzeria’s cable car pizza oven) while meeting all of SF SPCA’s adoptable animals. Adoption fees will be waived this evening at both our Mission and Pacific Heights Adoption Centers! The free adoptions will continue on Saturday and Sunday, May 30 and 31, as part of Maddie’s Pet Adoption Days.
"Hosting cocktail parties gives us a chance to get adoptable animals in front of people who might not otherwise plan to visit the shelter,” said SF SPCA co-president Jason Walthall. “These parties aren’t just a fun night out; they actually save lives.”
Get a front row seat at the catwalk for the 7pm fashion show featuring Claire Farwell and Jill Milan. Many have seen designer Claire Farwell’s beautiful gowns on the Hollywood red carpets. Now you’re invited to see her latest designs in person! Luxury handbag designer Jill Milan, who counts actresses Jennifer Lawrence and Anne Hathaway as clients, will be showing her latest Italian made, cruelty-free purses. Meanwhile, our four legged friends will be working the catwalk in Scutte and Yap apparel for dogs!
Our partners, simplicam, will be placing a camera on the runway for an up close and personal view of the dogs as they strut their stuff beside the models. The Closeli live video stream will be displayed on large screens for the audience to enjoy.
The fashion fun continues after the runway show! Check out the always fresh and effortlessly casual threads from San Francisco-based Betabrand. Dogs N Ties will also be on site with their fabulous accessories. Best of all, purchasing their colorful ties and scarves will help homeless animals.
Throughout the evening local favorites Sit Kitty Sit will provide the live soundtrack.

About the San Francisco SPCA
The San Francisco SPCA is an independent, community-supported, non-profit animal welfare organization dedicated to saving, protecting and providing immediate care for cats and dogs who are homeless, ill or in need of an advocate. The SF SPCA also works long-term to educate the community, reduce the number of unwanted kittens and puppies through spaying and neutering, and improve the quality of life for animals and their human companions. The organization does not receive government funding and is not affiliated with any national organization.
Support the SF SPCA by adopting, donating, volunteering and becoming a client of our state-of-the-art veterinary hospitals. In addition to our campus in the Mission neighborhood, as a result of our recent merger with Pets Unlimited we now have a second campus in Pacific Heights.
The SF SPCA offers volunteer opportunities to care for shelter dogs and cats, conduct adoption counseling, assist clients and veterinary staff, provide foster care, help with the Community Cats Program, and enrich the lives of people in the community through animal-assisted therapy.
