Kevin Morgan, President and CEO of ProLiteracy, Receives Nonprofit Executive of the Year Award
Syracuse, NY (PRWEB) May 21, 2015 -- Kevin Morgan, president and CEO of ProLiteracy, was recently selected as the Executive of the Year during 2015 Nonprofit Awards, presented by M&T Bank and Business Journal News Network/BizEventz.
The Nonprofit Awards recognize the exceptional accomplishments of the leaders driving the Central New York area’s nonprofit organizations. Award recipients are honored for excellence, leadership, fiduciary responsibility, management practices, creativity, impact, and business acumen. “The Nonprofit Awards have become a celebration of those nonprofit organizations, executives, and volunteers who have gone above and beyond to make our communities better places to live, work, and grow. M&T Bank is committed to supporting the communities in which we do business. Nonprofit organizations are a key component to a strong community,” said Allen Naples, regional president at M&T Bank.
“It is a great honor to be recognized with such an exciting award,” Morgan said. “This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication the ProLiteracy team displays everyday in helping adults gain the literacy skills necessary to lift themselves out of poverty and find sustainable employment.”
Morgan has served on ProLiteracy’s board of directors since 2007. He was appointed interim president and CEO in November 2012, and became permanent president and CEO in February 2014. Morgan led the restructure of the organization and the development of a new strategic plan to better serve the mission of developing adult literacy learning, content, programs, and advocacy nationwide.
“This award would not be possible without the support, hard work, and passion of the dedicated team of staff, board members, donors, partners, and volunteers that I have the honor of working with,” Morgan said.
