The 2nd Women in Technology Breakfast Briefing Hosted by Montash Was a Success
(PRWEB UK) 9 May 2015 -- The breakfast briefing was attended by over 100 female senior IT professionals. The event was an open forum panel discussion on a wide range of key issues and topics that affect female IT professionals within the technology sector.
Opening the event at 8.30am was Montash’s own Chief Executive Officer, Andy Larholt. He briefly discussed the importance of identifying the key issues and bridging the gap between the gender divide. He then introduced the panel and asked a series of questions related to the topic. The keynote speaker panel consisted of leading IT professionals, including Liz Jones - Director of Deloitte, Judi Edwards – Executive Partner at Gartner and Mike Bowden- Director of Percipient Insights (former Global CIO of Anglo American). The discussion was followed by a very intense Q&A session which highlighted a number of key issues.
The audience was engaged by the topics discussed. One of the key areas covered during the panel discussion was the gender difference between salaries, a question was asked by the panel raise your hands if you feel there is a divide? Almost everyone in the audience put their hands up.
CIO UK magazine’s Editor in Chief and Online Editor both attended the event; they will be writing a short piece on the outcomes of the discussion.
The event was considered a great success by all in attendance, it was oversubscribed and places were fully booked by mid-April. The next Women in Technology Breakfast Briefing will be held in 2016.
