Chicago Suburbs Datacenter Completing 2015 SSAE16 Type 2, SOC1, SOC2 Audit
Naperville, IL (PRWEB) May 11, 2015 -- NetSource is announcing the 6th annual SSAE16 Type 2 SOC1, SOC2 hosting audit for NetSource's Naperville and Chicago datacenter. NetSource undergoes annual SSAE16 audits performed by a third party auditor in order to provide hosting customers with the compliance that many businesses now require.
The NetSource SSAE16 Type 2 SOC1, SOC2 audit covers all aspects of the data center operations including management practices, human resource procedures, technical procedures, maintenance procedures, reliability maintenance, and security maintenance. It includes procedures for regular maintenance of all systems including power, environmental, networking, monitoring, business continuity, services, and more. It also covers all locations, the Naperville location, the Chicago location, both data rooms in Naperville, and the office areas. It covers colocation hosting, dedicated server hosting, managed services, disaster recovery services, security services, and cloud hosting services that NetSource provides to customers.
The SSAE16 Type 2 audit has replaced the SAS70 audit for datacenters. The SOC1 part of the audit is very similar to the SAS70 audit. The SOC2 part of the audit was added and goes a step farther with the audit when dealing with datacenters. A SOC2 audit will verify that the data center conforms to specific reliability and security standards and these standards are verified by a outside third party audit provider. It is best to choose a data center that has a SOC2 audit in order to confirm good procedures and security. A customer may also request the SOC2 audit report for review so that specific details of the audit can be reviewed.
NetSource can provide a copy of the annual audit to all current customers once the audit has been completed. “NetSource wants to provide full disclosure to all our clients when it comes to security and best practices in our datacenter,” said Craig Neidel of NetSource. “We fully understand that hosting customers are required to prove to their own clients that they are in a stable environment, and a SSAE16 audit makes this task much easier". NetSource is also PCI and Safe Harbor compliant.
