Pain Recovery Services Being Added to the Intensive Outpatient Treatment at Las Vegas Recovery Center
Las Vegas, CA (PRWEB) May 11, 2015 -- Las Vegas Recovery Center (LVRC) is pleased to announce the addition of Pain Recovery services to our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). These services are designed to address the unique challenges and meet the specialized needs of individuals living with chronic pain.
An extension of LVRC’s groundbreaking and nationally renowned inpatient Pain Recovery Program, these new services will help individuals transition from inpatient treatment to the “real world” of their daily lives, as well as solidify and sustain the progress they have made during treatment. Outpatient Pain Recovery services will also be available to community-based referrals for people suffering from chronic pain and experiencing the problematic use of opioid pain medications.
Chronic pain and the co-occurring long-term use of opioid pain medications are epidemic in the US, tearing apart the lives of so many individuals, families, and loved ones. This is why we created the Pain Recovery Program nearly ten years ago—a revolutionary approach to chronic pain treatment that works. Led by award-winning doctor, author, and Medical Director, Mel Pohl, MD, FASAM, the goals of Pain Recovery are to reduce pain levels and increase function without the use of opioid medications, thus improving the quality of life for our clients and their loved ones. Through years of practice, evidence has proven that our abstinence-based, holistic approach to chronic pain treatment is highly effective in achieving these goals.
“Pain Recovery at the outpatient level of care has been a long time coming. In providing continuity of care for a complicated group of clients, it will meet important needs within the community,” stated Dr. Pohl. “We are very pleased to add this level of care to our Pain Recovery Program,” said Johanna O’Flaherty, PhD, CEO of Las Vegas Recovery Center.
The Intensive Outpatient Program is eight (8) weeks in duration and takes place three (3) evenings per week for three (3) hours per night. One evening each week is focused on the family as a whole. Participants will also be encouraged to utilize our integrative services: Therapeutic massage, Chiropractic treatment, Acupuncture, Chi Kung, Reiki, Physical Therapy, and Yoga as part of their overall recovery process. Since 2006, the consistently positive results of our Pain Outcome Reports are evidence that LVRC’s Pain Recovery Program works to restore our clients’ ability to actively participate in and enjoy life.
Las Vegas Recovery Center (LVRC), Central Recovery’s flagship inpatient treatment center, is world-renowned for its opioid-free, inpatient chronic pain treatment program and a complete continuum of addiction treatment programs. Since 2003, the experienced and compassionate staff at LVRC has helped thousands of individuals, families, and concerned others discover recovery through innovative and evidence-based treatments for addiction and chronic pain.
Led by renowned trauma expert and CEO, Johanna O’Flaherty, PhD and award-winning doctor, author, and Medical Director, Mel Pohl, MD, FASAM, LVRC’s inpatient chronic pain treatment program and addiction treatment programs continue to influence many other respected and recognized treatment centers worldwide. Las Vegas Recovery Center is located in an intimate, residential setting located near the base of the Spring Mountains in Southern Nevada.
