Traverse City Tourism Unveils Interactive Official Website
Traverse City, MI (PRWEB) May 12, 2015 -- Traverse City Tourism has just unveiled its new official website, one that allows visitors to view the popular Lake Michigan resort community’s attractions and activities in all four seasons at the touch of a button.
The innovative “seasonality” function at http://www.traversecity.com means that all the content for each page – text, photographs and listings – can be changed by simply selecting the appropriate season. Brad Van Dommelen, the organization’s president and chief executive officer, said that’s the most exciting new feature designed into the new site.
“We’re a four-season destination, so having the ability to demonstrate the beauty and excitement of Traverse City in all four seasons is an incredibly powerful tool for us,” he said.
Other new features on the site include:
• Responsive Design: The site automatically adapts to a variety of user formats so that it displays equally well on desktop computers, tablets and mobile devices.
• Enhanced Imagery: The new design makes use of a larger wide-screen photo format to display Traverse City’s stunning natural beauty to its best advantage.
• International Translation: A drop-down menu allows non-English speakers to access content from the site in 65 different languages.
• Dynamic Searches: A more active search engine function responds to queries by delivering relevant text, imagery and other information.
The new site was developed over the course of nearly a year in consultation with Simpleview Inc. of Tucson, Arizona.
Organized in 1981 as the Traverse City Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, Traverse City Tourism is a nonprofit corporation that serves as the area’s official Destination Marketing Organization. Its focused mission is to stimulate economic growth through the attraction of convention business and leisure tourism development.
