ProAct Safety to Lead Advanced Sessions at ASSE Safety 2015 Conference
The Woodlands, TX (PRWEB) May 12, 2015 -- ProAct Safety, a recognized pioneer of leadership and safety excellence strategies, announced the company’s CEO, Terry L. Mathis, and president, Shawn M. Galloway, will lead four sessions at the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) Safety 2015 conference in Dallas, Texas. The conference will take place at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center. The ProAct Safety sessions are scheduled as follows.
Saturday, June 6, 2015: “Training Supervisors to Become Safety Coaches” (pre-conference; Mathis)
Sunday, June 7, 2015: “Re-Engineering Behavior-Based Safety” (pre-conference; Mathis)
Monday, June 8, 2015: “Top Five Strategic EHS Training Tips” (Galloway; sponsored by ASSE’s HR branch)
Tuesday, June 9, 2015: “The New Safety Strategy: Stop Preventing Accidents and Start Adding Value” (Mathis)
The presenters will share ways to modify safety strategies and training as safety evolves. Galloway said, “Future improvements in training will rely on a specific set of goals, including measurable ROI.”
Mathis says leading organizations are achieving better safety metrics by developing strategies around the safety needs of the worker rather than simply directing accident prevention. Supervisors are being trained as safety coaches who can identify and modify behaviors that cause accidents, as well as improve worker performance. Behavior-Based Safety can be re-engineered to increase effectiveness.
“In the past two decades, more effective ways of implementing BBS have been discovered and innovative steps have been taken to bring these systems to new heights of engagement and performance,” Mathis said. “We will demonstrate alternatives to traditional BBS methods to help companies improve efficiency without sacrificing effectiveness.”
