Boot Campaign's Pushups For Charity

Boot Campaign’s 4th annual Pushups for Charity events kick off nationwide in celebration of Armed Forces Day, May 16, 2015. To-date more than 100 teams across the country have registered to "push" against their friends and family to raise a million dollars to assist the unique challenges service members face during and post service; and provide assistance to military personnel, past and present, and their families.

Events are scheduled to take place across the country from Miami, Fla. to Anchorage, Alaska with big "pushes" slated for Los Angeles, San Jose, Irvine and Huntington Beach, Calif.; Manhattan and Staten Island, N.Y.; Chicago, ILL; Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, Pa.; Denver, Colo.; Washington, D.C; Dallas, Houston and San Antonio, Texas; Las Vegas, Nev., among many others.

Pushups for Charity fundraising challenge ends on September 19th with The Final Push on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. Visit to register.

The Boot Campaign encourages all of America to get involved in 1 of 3 ways:
1.    Host a team - Plan an event and enlist family, friends, coworkers.
2.    Join a team - Teams are organized by city and state.
3.    Donate - If you cannot physically push, push financially.

Pushups for Charity official sponsorships include Viacom's Spike TV, airing an outrageous 30 second PSA starring fitness celebrity Tony Horton, creator of P90X, and combat-wounded Staff Sergeant (ret.) Joey Jones, USMC EOD; Beachbody®, whose corporate mission is to help people achieve their goals and enjoy healthy, fulfilling lives; BurnThis, a fitness social app that makes a monetary donation for each post of #IPush; and for the final event in Washington D.C., Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation.

Last year, Pushups for Charity participants helped the Boot Campaign provide over $500K in urgent financial assistance, $750k for housing assistance and $564K toward wellness and family initiatives that help our heroes have a more successful transition back into civilian life.

Established in 2009, the Boot Campaign is a national 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to promoting patriotism for America and our military community; raising awareness of the unique challenges service members face during and post-service; and providing assistance to military personnel, past and present, and their families. Retail sales of combat boots, apparel and mission-focused merchandise, general public donations and corporate sponsorships fund programs that support military families. These efforts extend to all generations of military personnel who endure significant physical, emotional and circumstantial hardships resulting from their service and sacrifice.
