Hanley Wood Assists in Renovation of Atlanta's Covenant House of Georgia
Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) May 11, 2015 -- Hanley Wood, the premier information, media, event and strategic marketing services company serving the residential, commercial design and construction industries, along with CMD and AIA proudly announce their partnership with Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed and The Children’s Restoration Network (CRN) to revitalize Atlanta’s Covenant House of Georgia (CHGA), selected for AEC Cares’ fifth annual “blitz build.” This year’s build, titled projectAtlanta, will unite construction professionals and volunteers from around the nation on May 13, 2015; one day prior to commencement of the AIA National Convention at the Georgia World Congress Center.
On Wednesday, May 13, the day before the AIA National Convention, AEC Cares and industry professionals from all facets of the AEC community will tackle projects across the seven-acre CHGA campus. As many as 150 volunteers will gather for the one-day “blitz build” event to create an even brighter, more welcoming and updated facility in the fight to make a difference for Atlanta’s vulnerable homeless youth with a 24/7 place to turn.
“All of us at Hanley Wood feel privileged to work with our volunteers and partners in the mayor’s office and at Children’s Restoration Network in support of Covenant House Georgia this year,” said Peter Goldstone, CEO of Hanley Wood.
Each year, Hanley Wood, CMD and AIA come together as AEC Cares to unite hundreds of volunteers as they undertake a worthy project in the host city of the AIA national convention. Previous projects include building homes in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, renovating facilities for the homeless and disabled veterans in Denver, transforming a former school building into a daycare and early learning center for impoverished children in Chicago’s Southwest Side, and revitalizing houses for homeless teens in Washington, D.C.
