Building Locally to End Poverty Globally
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) May 11, 2015 -- Grand Homes is thrilled to announce its 5th Home for HOPE has been completed and purchased. “We feel honored and proud to be purchasing this home!” exclaimed Ms. Key, who purchased the beautiful home that provided funds to HOPE International’s microfinance program dedicated to alleviating world poverty by providing financial services for impoverished families.
The charity home was built by Grand Homes as part of their Chadwick Farms neighborhood, at the edge of Roanoke, TX. Grand Homes along with their trade partners, constructed this home with the goal of donating the proceeds from the sale of the home to Homes for HOPE, a non-profit organization that, together with HOPE International, provides financial resources and support to help alleviate physical and spiritual poverty in 17 developing countries around the world.
“It’s revolutionary - we can use our skills as builders and tradesmen to help empower thousands of people around the world,” said Stephen Brooks, CEO of Grand Homes.
Founded in 1999, Homes for HOPE works within the homebuilding industry, forming partnerships with builders and their trade partners to create revenue-generating projects – “homes for HOPE” – which provide financial support for HOPE International’s microeconomic development programs across the globe.
To date, homebuilders and trade partners around the country have completed 89 homes, raising over $10 million in charitable contributions. With their assistance, HOPE has been able to offer an estimated 1 million loans aimed at breaking the cycle of poverty for aspiring entrepreneurs in 17 countries around the world.
Brooks, recent recipient of the Dallas Builders Association’s Hugh Prather Humanitarian Award, believes in the idea of giving back. “Grand Homes has always supported, and will continue to support, many local charities to benefit the communities in which we build; Homes for HOPE allows us to have an impact beyond our own community to help eliminate poverty in areas of need throughout the world," says Mr. Brooks.
