The Big Data Innovation Summit: Pushing Big Data Strategy
San Jose, CA (PRWEB) May 12, 2015 -- With over 1 billion Google searches and almost 300 billion emails sent every day, there is no doubt that we are in the Big Data era. The amount of data collected by many businesses is useful, however company leaders are looking to make the most out of this data for a more efficient and effective business strategy.
The Big Data Innovation Summit last month was a great space for industry leaders to share insights, and to engage with future innovations in Big Data.
The Innovation Enterprise team would like to extend a massive thank you to all those who attended, the sponsors and, of course, the speakers who presented interesting and thought-provoking content. Presentations were extremely well received, and the team are delighted with the positive feedback.
Highlights across both days included:
Juan Miguel Lavista, Principal Data Scientist, Bing
Juan has been a speaker at conferences all over the world, and his presentation in San Jose displayed his extensive knowledge of the big data industry. His presentation gave a sharp and thorough overview of ‘Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Big Data’.
Beena Ammanath, Executive Leader, Data and Analytics, General Electric
With over 23 years’ experience working with the likes of British Telecom, Thomas Reuters and Silicon Valley startups, it was apparent that Beena’s presentation on ‘Innovating for the Industrial Internet’ would be a hit with the attendees. At GE, Beena focusses on driving analytics development and aids teams to view data in more effective ways.
William Vambenepe, Senior Product Manager, Google
Presentations from Google always normally draw a crowd, and William’s presentation was no different. His insights on ‘Easy, Reliable Processing for Stream & Batch’ was well received by the audience and created some fantastic discussions amongst the delegates.
Event organiser, Chris Towers, said; “The Big Data Innovation Summit has once again been a success in the heart of Silicon Valley, and it is with thanks to the speakers who put in the time and effort to present on interesting and current topics. It has been a pleasure to work with so many industry leaders, and myself and the team hope that all those who attended the event have taken away insights to move forward with their own Big Data strategy.”
If you were unable to attend the San Jose event, the next Big Data Innovation Summit will be held in Boston this September 9 & 10. With names such as United Nations, Spotify, eBay and Groupon already confirmed, this summit is one not to be missed.
