Capital Resorts Group receives a Gold Award from Hermes Creative Awards

Capital Resorts Group has been constantly striving to push the boundaries of design in our industry both in print and online and we have come a long way in a very short amount of time.

Capital Resorts Group was honored with a Gold Award on Friday, May 1, 2015, by Hermes Creative Awards for their Kennebunk Mailer direct mail piece. Winners were selected from 195 categories grouped under advertising, publications, marketing/branding, integrated marketing, public relations/communications, electronic media and pro bono. Capital Resorts Group was chosen from the advertising submissions of the print media category.

The Kennebunk Mailer was created as a direct mail piece sent to Capital Resorts Group members about 84 Main, a Capital Collection destination in Kennebunk, Maine. The front cover featured a photograph of the Maine coastline with a description of the Kennebunk area and the property on the inside. The piece offered guests a 3 day, 2 night getaway, a lobster bake dinner and a special cruise promotion.

“This is very exciting for our company and specifically my department,” said Chris Hutchison, vice president of IT and creative services for Capital Resorts Group. “I’m really proud of the work my team has been producing and this is a nice acknowledgment of those efforts. Capital Resorts Group has been constantly striving to push the boundaries of design in our industry both in print and online and we have come a long way in a very short amount of time.”

Submissions for the Hermes Creative Awards came from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers. Entries were evaluated by judges from the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals’ (AMCP) on creativity and what the submitter had to work with in creating their media piece.

Almost 6,000 submissions were received for the Hermes Creative Awards 2015 competition from 23 different countries. Approximately 22 percent of the entries received a Gold Award. This award is presented to those who were judged to have talent exceeding a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry.

“Being a Gold Winner is a tremendous achievement that is symbolized by the intricately detailed Hermes gold statuettes,” said a Hermes Creative Awards spokesperson in a congratulatory letter. “The name Hermes (Greek messenger) and the idea for the statuette were chosen to represent our roles as the messengers and creators of marketing and communication materials and programs.”
