Byron Atkinson Joins B. E. Smith as Vice President, Leadership Advisor

Smith has hired Byron Atkinson as vice president, leadership advisor for the firm’s Interim Leadership and Advisory Services division. An accomplished healthcare executive with more than 35 years of national and international senior leadership experience, he brings a successful track record in leading for-profit and not-for-profit hospitals, as well as academic medical centers and large health systems. Atkinson will assume his new duties immediately.
Atkinson joins a dedicated team of executives who specialize in supporting Academic Medical Centers and Children’s Hospitals. He will lead a number of interim and consulting executives nationwide who focus on providing leadership solutions for these important B. E. Smith clients.

Atkinson holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Maryland, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Florida and is certified Six Sigma Green Belt from Villanova University. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE), Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN), American Care Management Association (ACMA), as well as the Illinois Organization of Nurse Leaders (IONL) and the Indiana Organization of Nurse Executives (IONE).
