The Thursday Night Kick off (5:45-9:15pm) features two legendary guitarists Robben Ford and Tommy Castro & The Painkillers. Friday Night Rock ‘N Blues (3:00pm-10:00pm) features headlining performances from Trombone Shorty & Orleans Ave, Carolyn Wonderland, John Nemeth and Hadden Sayers. Saturday’s Bluesapalooza (11:45am-9:30pm) features Jonny Lang, Ruthie Foster, The Delta Saints, Jelly Bread, Raquel Rodriquez Band, and Shane Dwight. “We pulled out all the stops for the 20th anniversary band lineup,” says Sean Turner of Mammoth Brewing Company “Festival goers will hear the most incredible lineup ever to take a Mammoth stage. It’s a super-charged mix of legendary blues performers and exciting new acts. And, of course, we’re bringing back only the finest in craft brews.”
And what goes better with Blues than a good brew. On Saturday, the Mammoth Festival of Beers Grand Tasting (12 pm-5:00pm) features over 80 of the country’s best craft breweries such as Mammoth Brewing Company, Anchor Brewing, Fireman’s Brew, Bear Republic, Anderson Valley, Stone, Green Flash, Firestone Walker, San Diego, Sierra Nevada, Lagunitas, Deschutes and many more. The festival benefits the California Craft Brewers Association as well as many local nonprofit organizations. Along with the beer and blues, plenty of tasty blues food from some of Mammoth’s best restaurants will be served in the Blues Food Court satisfying the heartiest of appetites.
New at this year’s festival are two special encore performances hosted at Mammoth Brewing Company’s Tasting Room. On Friday evening, three-time Grammy nominee Ruthie Foster will present an intimate acoustic duo performance. Described as a roof rattler with a soulful voice, Foster can move an audience to both tears and ecstasy in a single song. (This is a rare opportunity to see Ruthie Foster in a unique, intimate setting.) On Sunday, a special festival after-party will take place in the Mammoth Brewing Company parking lot featuring showstopper Jelly Bread with their appetizing brand of high-energy alt-rock, soul and funk. Both of these encore performances are limited engagements; therefore, advance tickets are recommended.
