Florida Hospital Announces “Spirit of Women” Hospital Designations to Drive Local Health Action for Women and Families in Tampa Bay
Tampa, FL (PRWEB) May 11, 2015 -- Florida Hospital has officially named three hospitals -Florida Hospital Tampa, Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel, and Florida Hospital Zephyrhills - as Spirit of Women designated hospitals. Spirit of Women is an integrated partnership of hospitals and healthcare systems across the country that aim to drive action for women and families. Spirit of Women enables Florida Hospital to continue to focus on specific needs of the local community while drawing on the strength and support of a national network.
“Florida Hospital is elevating healthcare for women in Tampa Bay. Through our Spirit of Women partnership, we can connect women and their families with vital health information that can be presented in both a fun and informative way while encouraging them to take action,” said Lauren Key, Florida Hospital West Florida Region Vice President of Marketing. “This is vitally important as our goal is to create a healthier community in Tampa Bay and women are key to helping us accomplish this.”
Spirit of Women will collaborate with Florida Hospital to offer seminars and events which contain, “Health-u-tainment,” a unique way to engage and educate consumers. As Spirit of Women hospitals, Florida Hospital Tampa, Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel and Florida Hospital Zephyrhills are committing to a comprehensive list of National Standards for Excellence in Women’s Health. Because women make approximately 85 percent of household healthcare decisions, the educational and motivational aspects of the hospital’s women’s programming are expected to positively impact the well-being of the entire family and community as a whole.
“Across the country, Spirit of Women is helping hospitals and healthcare providers improve the health and well-being of their local communities through engaging, entertaining education. With Florida Hospital Tampa, Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel and Florida Hospital Zephyrhills leading the charge, a health revolution is on its way to the Tampa Bay area,” said Paula Commers, Vice President, Spirit of Women.
Utilizing the Spirit of Women resources, the hospitals plan to conduct a wide variety of events including educational and recreational activities, health screenings, workshops and seminars that will reach women in all stages of their lives. Florida Hospital Zephyrhills hosted the first Spirt of Women event of the year at the Pasco County Fairgrounds.
