Context.IO has experienced a growing developer base since their launch in early 2011, with daily API calls now ranging from 1 million to 1.5 million calls per day. Unlike email APIs that focus on email sending, Context.IO enables developers to easily build applications on top of their users’ email data.
Email is one of the most prevalent, steadfast and foundational tools in use today. Combine that with the wealth of data that can be found within email accounts as a result of consumers managing their lives (storing receipts and coupons, sharing photos, managing tasks and projects, receiving notifications from other applications, storing documents, keeping track of travel itineraries and things to read, managing relationships, saving contact information, etc), and the possibilities for creating compelling applications are nearly limitless.
The competition’s submission period opens today and will close September 1, 2015. Developers can find more information and register for the challenge at http://contextio.challengepost.com. The challenge will be powered by hackathon management platform ChallengePost.
Context.IO, a Return Path company, is enabling a new wave of innovation on email. Email is a robust data source that contains data such as transactions, notifications and documents as consumers use their email accounts to manage their lives. Context.IO provides a RESTful API that makes it simple for developers to connect to email servers and build applications on top of their user’s email data. With Context.IO, developers don’t have to worry about the complexity of email server protocols and can accelerate development and focus on what’s unique to their business instead.
