Catholic Medical Center Chooses Voalte Smartphones for Caregiver Communication
SARASOTA, Fla. (PRWEB) May 13, 2015 -- Voalte®, the leader in healthcare communication technology, today announced that Catholic Medical Center, one of New Hampshire’s largest healthcare organizations with 150 patient beds, deployed Voalte smartphones to facilitate nurse, physician and interdepartmental communication. The project began in early May 2015, with caregivers using Apple® iPhone 5s smartphones running Voalte One™ software in the Cardiac Medical, Medical Surgical, Heart and Vascular Interventional, and Mom’s Place and Special Care Nursery units. To support physician communication, hospitalists and OB/GYN providers are using the Voalte Me™ application on their personal smartphones.
“We need a unified method of communication to connect staff throughout our facility,” said Jennifer Torosian, RN, MSN, NEA-BC, Executive Director of Nursing at Catholic Medical Center. “With some units using pagers and others relying extensively on the nurse call system and overhead paging, we are looking forward to implementing a smartphone solution from Voalte that will streamline communication and ultimately enable us to provide the highest quality patient care.”
This upgrade in communication is part of Catholic Medical Center’s journey to achieve Magnet Status from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), a rigorous certification that is awarded only to healthcare organizations that demonstrate an environment of excellence for nursing practice and patient care.
“Catholic Medical Center’s choice of a Voalte smartphone solution will equip its staff with leading technology that supports the best possible patient care,” said Trey Lauderdale, Voalte Founder and CEO. “Voalte smartphones will allow caregivers to send secure text messages inside and outside the hospital, respond to patients quickly, request help from support staff and streamline the way they work.”
