Japanese-American Internment Camp Collection Finds a Home at JANM
Lambertville, NJ (PRWEB) May 13, 2015 -- The Eaton collection of art, crafts and photography from the Japanese-American internment camps has been acquired by the Japanese American National Museum (JANM). Rago partners David Rago and Suzanne Perrault were JANM’s guests at a reception for Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in Los Angeles before the announcement took place.
After the property was withdrawn from the April 17, 2015 auction, Rago served as an intermediary between the owner and interested institutions to ensure that this property was appropriately placed. It was ultimately agreed to award the property to JANM. Its central mission to share the Japanese American experience, its resources, and its situation on the West Coast, the site of the evacuation, make it a most fitting repository.
