Boston VA Research Institute Selects Vivantech’s Cloud-Based Ekualiti KC™ for Research and Grants Award Management
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) May 14, 2015 -- Vivantech, a leader in consulting and development of enterprise grade, open-source software for higher education and research institutions has announced that the Boston VA Research Institute, Inc. (BVARI) has selected the cloud-based Ekualiti KC electronic research administration (eRA) solution to manage its research and grant administration.
BVARI is a nonprofit organization that supports the medical research conducted by the VA Boston Healthcare System. The organization is comprised of three campuses located in Jamaica Plain, West Roxbury and Brockton. The Ekualiti KC Award and Negotiation modules will streamline processes at BVARI to efficiently track and maintain its funded projects while collecting critical data to perform business analysis.
“When exploring our options for research and grants administration solutions, we looked at Ekualiti KC and found it to be an impressively modern and innovative option that was clearly the best choice for us,” said Nancy Watterson-Diorio, CEO of BVARI. “Working together with Vivantech’s team will enable BVARI to enhance one of our core values of excellence through quality, efficiency and innovation. It is a true partnership with Vivantech, and in addition to implementing their cloud-based SaaS solution, together we plan to develop a clinical trials module that will become an add-on to Ekualiti KC. I strongly believe this collaboration as a whole will fulfill our strategy to develop and continually improve upon BVARI’s best practices and as a result provide us with key information to make more valuable, effective business decisions in the future.”
Vivantech created Ekualiti KC in response to the need for an affordable, comprehensive eRA solution that is quick to deploy, highly-scalable, and easy to use and navigate. Ekualiti KC is based on Kuali software and built on the Amazon AWS (Amazon Web Services) platform. It can be deployed via the AWS cloud, or in a private cloud option through Red Hat's OpenShift™ technology.
A key factor in BVARI’s decision was Vivantech’s nearly 12 years of software development, systems integration and consulting experience.
”We are honored to have been selected as a partner by BVARI,” said Randy Ozden, CEO, Vivantech. “The strategic goals at BVARI align with our mission to provide innovative eRA solutions and deliver stellar customer service.”
Ekualiti SaaS offerings include Ekualiti Rice with Visual Workflow for business process automation.
With Ekualiti, institutions have the benefits of an innovative, flexible and robust platform without the cost of licensing and annual maintenance fees, or restrictive vendor lock-in typical of proprietary software. With the increasing difficulty institutions face to improve performance in an environment of continuing budget constraints, the Ekualiti alternative is the administrative system solution that contains ERP costs.
