Lori Rodriguez, Regional Business Development & Marketing Manager at Frazier & Deeter’s Tampa office, is running for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Suncoast Chapter 2015 Woman of the Year.

Lori was eager to participate in the campaign to help raise money to find a cure for blood cancer after watching family members and friends battle cancer. She dedicated her campaign to the granddaughter of a friend, who was diagnosed with leukemia in 2010. Julie endured years of chemotherapy and treatment, but is now cancer free. Lori hopes that her campaign will help raise money and awareness to provide brighter futures for those who are battling cancer.

“We are all very proud of Lori’s work on the campaign, and her dedication to raising money and awareness for the LLS,” commented Mark Kingery, Managing Partner at Frazier & Deeter’s Tampa Office. “Frazier & Deeter encourages everyone to get involved in the community and work to better the lives of others. Lori’s benevolent work is a shining example.”

The Man & Woman of the Year campaign is a fundraising competition among individuals in the community who vie for the honor of being the Man or Woman of the Year. Candidates are judged solely on their fundraising efforts where each dollar raised comprises one vote. The candidates who raise the most funds to help advance the mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society during a ten-week campaign, beginning at the Kickoff Party and culminating at the Grand Finale Celebration, will be named the Man & Woman of the Year. The candidates raise money in honor of local blood cancer survivors, the Boy & Girl of the Year.

“The best part of my campaign has been the opportunity to meet and get to know the Boy of the Year, Sean, and the Girl of the Year, Lea, and learning of their struggles with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. They have such wonderfully positive attitudes and are a delight to know,” said Rodriguez. “Additionally, I am so grateful for the generosity of my friends, family, colleagues and acquaintances. I could not have done this without the help of many.”

Frazier & Deeter has been a longtime supporter of LLS and the Man Woman of the Year Campaign. Past participants from Frazier & Deeter for the LLS’s Atlanta Chapter Man Woman of the Year campaign include Bill Godshall in 2010, Ruth Bartlett in 2011, Sabrina Serafin in 2012 and David Sawyer in 2013. In 2011, Ruth raised $102,000 in ten short weeks, and was named the LLS Atlanta Chapter Woman of the Year.
