American Welding Society Hosts Metal Cladding Conference in Minneapolis, May 12-13
Miami, Fla. (PRWEB) May 12, 2015 -- The American Welding Society continued to extend its focus on the science, technology and application of welding and allied joining and cutting processes as it welcomes educators, industry and practitioners to its Metal Cladding Conference, May 12 and 13 in Minneapolis. Over two days and sixteen sessions, AWS will address the growth in the use of cladding as an approach to protect structures from corrosion including a specific focus on weld cladding, a cost effective way to prepare structures and piping for applications such as sour gas, chemical reactors and storage vessels, high temperature power generation equipment, transition joints, and repair. The conference will also include; hot-wire weld cladding, roll bonding, explosive cladding, nanocomposite material, strip cladding, the role of lasers, new materials and more that make cladding a competitive solution in metals protection. It’s a rare opportunity for professionals, educators and others to gather, network and learn about this evolving protective process.
According to AWS marketing director, Lorena Cora, “Our Metal Cladding Conference is yet another example of AWS’ focus on all aspects of our industry. Welding professionals are often connected to the entire cycle of planning, construction and use of the metals they work with and a deeper understanding of how metals are preserved and sustained through cladding is an ever growing focus of our industry.”
