Lex Products introduces the PowerGATE™ ReadySwitch™ Power Input Panel with Integrated Manual Transfer Switch for emergency power management. During a power outage the ReadySwitch™ can be easily paired with a portable generator saving businesses millions of dollars in lost profits due to spoiled goods, no visible lights, or inability to accept electronic payments.
The ReadySwitch™ is the perfect cost efficient switchgear device for gas stations, convenience stores, housing complexes, schools, and other municipal facilities.
An end-user can install the ReadySwitch™ prior to an emergency power outage and easily energize the facility with a portable generator quickly, compared to waiting for an available electrician during a power outage, resulting in normal business operation.
“We are excited to offer this new product in our line of emergency power solutions portfolio. After Hurricane Sandy we empathized with many of our customers over the loss of millions of dollars due to the loss of power. With the ReadySwitch™ we see this as a means to ensure safety and maintain as close to normal business operations during the loss of power”, commented Jack Hogarth, Industrial Products Manager at Lex Products.
With easy connection and operation of a portable generator to a facility the ReadySwitch™ manual transfer switch can be toggled by any trained ReadySwitch™ operator to energize power from the portable generator. Power is then easily restored to the facility without having to wait, saving businesses time and money.
Two configurations offer a choice of either service entrance rated or switched to work in conjunction with existing main disconnect, both options feature 400 Amp, 3 Phase, (H, H, H, N, G) 4 Pole, 5 Wire, 600 VAC Maximum service.
The ReadySwitch™ is a cULus 1008 Switchgear Accessory, adding a level of safety and reliability. When paired with a service entrance rated device, the unit prevents power surges upon a simultaneous connection of two electrical sources. With a 35ka SCCR at 480 VAC and 25ka SCCR at 600VAC, the ReadySwitch™ can withstand large surges in current, preventing further damage to equipment in the electrical system. The keyed, front door prevents unauthorized access and tampering with the device. The inward opening cable door also prevents access to the terminals while in use or dormant, preventing cable theft. The dead-front panel, installed during the initial set up and installation, prevents access from unauthorized personnel, and large graphic labels clearly identify the operations and connections so that only minimum level of training is needed to operate.
