North American Van Lines Launches New Scholarship for Logistics-Based College Students
Fort Wayne, IN (PRWEB) May 26, 2015 -- North American Van Lines proudly announces its plans to launch a new logistics scholarship program in 2015, intended to support growth and development opportunities for students majoring in logistics and similar fields. Founded in 1933, North American has launched a series of initiatives over the years designed to cultivate the industries of moving, shipping and logistics.
“At North American Van Lines, we believe a quality education is key to the continued support and development of the growing logistics industry,” says Andy Kroll, vice president and general manager of North American Van Lines. “This scholarship program reflects our commitment to community service and to building a nationwide network of skilled logistics professionals prepared to meet industry challenges now and in the future.”
The program consists of five $1,000 scholarships that will be awarded through an essay contest, in which interested and qualified applicants must explain why they have chosen to pursue degree in supply chain management or logistics. Award winners will be notified via email and will receive a check made out to their college or university of choice. Scholarship winners will also be posted on the official Scholarship contest page (http://www.northamerican.com/scholarship). Entry submissions must be received no later than September 1, 2015.
“For the essay, a personalized tone, referencing your sincere firsthand experiences and sentiments, is best—no need to be too formal,” said Steve Yahn vice president and network manager, North American Van Lines. “We want to know why you truly believe logistics is the best career path for you.”
