Aegis Living CEO Dwayne Clark Steps Up for Sound Mental Health
Redmond, WA (PRWEB) May 19, 2015 -- Aegis Living CEO and playwright Dwayne Clark, whose play “Seven Ways to Get There” just finished a wildly successful world premier run at Seattle’s ACT Theatre, is now donating more than $52,000 to Sound Mental Health as tonight’s fundraising gala in downtown Bellevue approaches.
“Seven Ways to Get There” ran at ACT Theatre February 24th through March 15th. The play, under the direction of critically-acclaimed John Langs, will soon be seen in other cities across America. The play, while drawing standing ovations every night, examined the largely ignored and secretive world of men’s group therapy. It was based on a men’s therapy group Dwayne Clark was a part of several years ago following a divorce. Proceeds from the play benefited Sound Mental Health, serving thousands in Western Washington. The funds from this specific donation are now targeted toward helping Puget Sound’s homeless. Dwayne Clark says, “It’s an honor to support Sound Mental Health’s efforts. They’re a fantastic organization making a huge difference.”
Dr. David Stone, CEO of Sound Mental Health says, “The ideals of caring and compassion which impact the way Dwayne and Terese Clark run their business, obviously influenced their decision to support Sound Mental Health. Their generous donation, specifically enables us to help many homeless, chronically mentally ill individuals, many of whom either don’t have funding to receive quality mental health and substance abuse services, or only sporadically receive funding to help them with their recovery.”
