Film Riot’s Epic Summer Film Project Continues with Premiere of Seth Worley’s Newest Film, “Real Gone”

Worley, who directed the recent YouTube viral smash, “Old/New” featuring narration by Patton Oswalt, described “Real Gone” as somewhat of a departure for him. He commented, “It’s definitely the darkest story I’ve ever told, although - and maybe I’m being delusional -- I actually think it’s an ultimately hopeful and optimistic story.”

Seth continued, “Ryan and I work so well together it’s almost gross. We have very similar and complementary instincts when it comes to storytelling. To be on a slate like this wedged between Ryan Connolly and Andrew Kramer is surreal. Both of these guys have been inspiring me for years, so I’d be lying if I told you I wasn’t a little starstruck.”

Film Riot’s Epic Summer
Film Riot’s Epic Summer debuted last month with the premiere of Ryan Connolly’s short film, U.F.Oh Yeah. The Epic Summer is a three month film project created to showcase the work of three up-and-coming and award winning indie film directors. For the project, Connolly has teamed up with Andrew Kramer - renown among the filmmaker community and the creator of Video Copilot; and Seth Worley, who has earned national acclaim for his work with Red Giant Films and such viral indie films as "Plot Device" and the recent sensation, “Old/New.”
The first installment of Film Riot’s Epic Summer, entitled U.F.Oh Yeah, follows Ned Dedry, a conspiracy theorist and Extra-Terrestrial enthusiast, who had always dreamed of making contact with other-worldly visitors. But, when that day finally arrived, things don’t play out the way he’d hoped.

Film Riot’s Epic Summer is a three month event that showcases three new films from each of the three directors. In addition to the premiere of these new films, ‘Epic Summer’ dives into the process of each filmmaker to see how they made their film, with each film accompanied by a month-long series of Behind The Scenes films that will dive deep into the techniques and challenges of making each film.
Today, Seth Worley’s short debuts, followed by a month of behind the scenes/how-to episodes about how Seth made the film. And in June, 2015, Andrew Kramer’s short film and subsequent behind the scenes series will be released.
