Matthew Carden’s series from Big Cork Winery ad campaign was chosen along with others from thousands of entries worldwide. The PDN Annual picks a handful of photographs from the best of the best. He is honored to be up next to these prestigious artists.
The 2015 PDN Photography Annual is a prestigious international contest. It records this year’s most compelling images, from highly visible ad campaigns and editorials, to photojournalism stories, to personal series from established photographers. Matthew’s tiny people stood out amongst the biggest photographers in the world with his series for the Maryland winery Big Cork Vineyards. Matthew’s creative and unusual shooting style has led him to be a stand out, rising to be an emerging artist who is collected internationally and written about frequently.
The PDN Photo Annual, now in its 15th year, is a celebration of innovative work by photographers from all over the world. The 2015 competition drew thousands of entries in ten categories, including Advertising/Corporate Work, Magazine/Editorial, Photojournalism/Documentary, Sports, Self-Promotion, Photo Books, Personal Work, Stock Photography, Video, and Student Work
Matthew lives in Marin county north of San Francisco CA, he has been shooting tiny people for 16 years. Starting out in commercial photography he spent years turning his focus to into illustrative photography for products and fine art. His work only focuses on food and toys, he sells his work world wide and is represented by 9 galleries in the USA. The work is innovative, fun and colorful, he is prolific, producing work regularly. His shooting style has led him to contribute to many exciting projects like, Wookiee Cookies cookbook and others. Working with his wife, a food stylist and cookbook author, helps make his photographs just right.
