All-New Primary Care Women’s Health Forum Launches First Regional Meeting Series Dedicated Entirely to Women’s Health in the Primary Care Setting in 2015
MALVERN, PA (PRWEB) May 18, 2015 -- HMP Communications Holdings, LLC, a leader in healthcare communications and education, announces the launch of the Primary Care Women’s Health Forum (PCWHF), a groundbreaking regional meeting series in 2015.
Powered by Consultant, the nation’s leading, peer-reviewed journal for primary care practitioners, and developed in partnership with various state chapters of the American Academy of Family Physicians, each one-day meeting will offer up to 6 CME/CE and AAFP/AOA credits and feature a powerful curriculum addressing key health issues that significantly impact women, including:
- Obesity and diabetes risk
- Hormone therapy for pregnancy prevention and chronic disease management
- Cardiovascular disease
- Autoimmune disease
- Major depression
- Urinary incontinence
“The biological differences between women and men warrant a difference in approach to certain health issues in primary care,” said Jeffrey Levine, MD, MPH, and PCWHF Co-Chair. “No other regional meeting provides gender-specific evaluation and treatment strategies like PCWHF, and with our American Academy of Family Physicians state chapter partnerships, we have an incredible opportunity to deliver the cutting-edge curriculum to even more primary care physicians.”
PCWHF is seeking additional partnerships with state chapters of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Interested chapters may direct requests to schedule a meeting in their area to 609-630-6264, or email [email protected].
The Primary Care Women’s Health Forum regional meeting series is presented in three locations in 2015:
- Developed in partnership with the West Virginia Academy of Family Physicians, the first, wildly successful PCWHF was offered on April 16, 2015 in Charleston, West Virginia.
- Developed in partnership with the Maryland Academy of Family Physicians, PCWHF will be offered at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore on October 24, 2015 in Baltimore, Maryland.
- Developed in partnership with the Kentucky Academy of Family Physicians, PCWHF will be offered at the Campbell House on November 12, 2015 in Lexington, Kentucky.
“Our goal in launching the Primary Care Women’s Health Forum is to equip clinicians with the best practices in chronic disease management for female patients,” stated Jeff Hennessy, chairman and chief executive officer, HMP Communications Holdings. “Ultimately, this program works to further our mission of increasing practitioner knowledge across a broad spectrum of multimedia, live event, and continuing medical education programs in order to optimize patient care.”
Delivering educational content for both physicians and nurses, PCWHF is CME, CNE, AAFP, and AOA accredited. Questions specific to accreditation, content, program offerings, and other details for upcoming conferences can be directed to 609-371-1137.
Registration is now open for the Baltimore, Maryland, and Lexington, Kentucky meetings.
