Greenberg Traurig’s Lauri Thompson to be Honored at the Las Vegas Business Press 2015 Women Who Mean Business Event
Las Vegas (PRWEB) May 18, 2015 -- Lauri Thompson, shareholder in Greenberg Traurig LLP’s Las Vegas office, will be honored at the Las Vegas Business Press 2015 “Women Who Mean Business” event May 21, 2015. The event will recognize 15 women who are proven leaders in their industry and have made a lasting impact on the Las Vegas business climate and local communities. The selected women come from a multitude of professional fields, including finance, education, healthcare, and legal. The honorees will also be profiled in a special edition of the Las Vegas Business Press and the Las Vegas Review Journal.
Thompson’s practice is focused on protecting and enforcing her clients’ intellectual property throughout the world, particularly for those in entertainment and the Las Vegas gaming-resort industry. She is skilled in protecting her clients’ brands and corporate images by managing and maintaining their trademark and copyright portfolios. She also counsels many production companies and recording studios by handling issues pertaining to show production and audio visual works, in addition to advising them on their advertising and entertainment contracts. Furthermore, Thompson handles clearance, procurement, and enforcement of intellectual property rights internationally, including the protection and use of intellectual property on and off the Internet. She also has a wide breadth of experience in working with advertising agencies, media companies, and interior design groups, assisting them in the clearance of using materials for their respective projects and marketing campaigns.
Thompson serves as an adjunct professor in entertainment law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She has been recognized by the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, which accepted her to its Leadership Las Vegas program, a premier executive development program in Southern Nevada, and she has since served on the committee which develops programming for the new Leadership Las Vegas classes.
Thompson is also involved in several Las Vegas charities, serving on the executive board of the Nevada Ballet Theatre, and is past-chairman of the Board for Variety--The Children’s Charity of Southern Nevada. In addition, she is a member of the League of Women Voters and the Nevada Women’s Lobby, and is the past president of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) Las Vegas Branch.
