Inmar Digital Health Challenge Application Deadline Is May 31
Winston-Salem, NC (PRWEB) May 18, 2015 -- Inmar, a company that operates intelligent commerce networks, today announced that applications continue to be accepted for The Inmar Digital Health Challenge 2015 – a business idea competition seeking innovative digital health-related business ideas. Applications are now being accepted through May 31, 2015 with the winning entry to receive a $25,000 cash prize and potential future funding. Applications have been received from across the U.S. and Canada.
Participants in the Inmar Digital Health Challenge powered by Flywheel will propose solutions to address the following question: How can disparate data sources be leveraged to discover health-related correlations and insights that enable individuals, their support groups and families to monitor and improve a patient’s health? During the competition, teams will have access to healthcare business experts who will serve as mentors.
“Digital health” involves the convergence of technology, personal health management and healthcare and is one of the fastest growing business sectors. The Inmar Digital Health Challenge seeks a solution that combines currently available technologies (including wireless devices, hardware sensors, mobile and body area networks, health information technology and social media) to make healthcare more personalized, precise and accessible -- while lowering costs and reducing inefficiency.
“We are looking for the best ideas in this exploding space,” said David Mounts, Chairman and CEO of Inmar. “By putting this challenge out to the digital health community and engaging the brightest and most entrepreneurial minds, we have the opportunity to find the next big innovation in digital health.”
Flywheel will provide workspace during the finalists’ briefing and final pitch weekend for selected teams participating in the Challenge. The group will also arrange for resources and mentors to help each team develop their concepts and commercialization plans. Inmar, in addition to sponsoring the Challenge, will provide healthcare business experts to serve as mentors and judges for the competition.
Inmar’s support for the Challenge ties closely with the work of the Inmar Healthcare Network which offers a variety of application suites that use technology, data analytics and focused services to improve healthcare operations and consumer health states. Inmar is a leading provider of technology-driven pharmacy management solutions, supporting more than 40,000 retail pharmacies, as well as manufacturers, wholesalers and health systems.
