Annual 2015 Global Skillsoft Perspectives Highlights Future of Modern Learning and Talent Development
Orlando, Fla (PRWEB) May 19, 2015 -- Skillsoft, a global leader in learning and talent management, kicked off its sold-out 2015 Global Skillsoft Perspectives customer conference today in Orlando with nearly 1,200 attendees representing 500 customer organizations. This year’s event, the largest to date in the company’s 17 year history, brings together learning, talent and HR professionals to exchange best practices and learn about industry trends, experience the latest Skillsoft and SumTotal product innovations, and meet with the company’s experts and executives.
John Ambrose, senior vice president of strategy and development at Skillsoft, and Mike Walsh, best-selling author and CEO of Tomorrow will deliver the opening keynotes this morning, presenting their visions for how organizations must evolve their cultures and HR practices to embrace the new behaviors, expectations, and innovations proliferating in today’s mobile, social and digital word.
During the morning’s first keynote, Dawn of the Self-Developing Organization, John Ambrose will challenge attendees to think about how their talent development strategies are keeping pace with the digital innovations that are reshaping the business world and redefining the workplace. He will then take the audience on a journey of HR’s next game changer: “the Self-Developing Organization.” At its core, the Self-Developing Organization is a deeply integrated content and engagement platform that knows, entices, improves, rewards and reinforces positive behaviors in employees. When Big Data is layered in, the platform becomes self-learning so that the more that users interact, the smarter the system becomes about who they are and how they learn, providing a continuous guide to help learners achieve their maximum potential. Skillsoft’s vision and strategy for delivering on this new concept is rooted in a fundamental belief that learning should be employee-centric and occur naturally and contextually as part of the daily flow of work, when and where it is needed.
In the second keynote, Designing Your Business for the 21st Century, Mike Walsh will encourage attendees to break the rules, asserting that the companies that will thrive in the near future will be those that are quick to embrace change. Walsh will also offer his views on which business and HR rules need breaking, along with a modern perspective on what it takes to recruit, retain and motivate tomorrow's employees; the impact corporate culture is having on employee engagement; how to leverage social networks to solve real business problems and why the multicultural web of tomorrow will be different from the one we use today.
