The founding of Pond Partners LLC, a Los Angeles-based firm providing a comprehensive service for British companies looking to build subsidiaries in the United States, was announced today. Pond Partners will be based in Los Angeles and will specialize initially in technology and creative industries. It will provide for its clients both a physical U.S. presence through its offices, and a full range of business development services including client and partner acquisition, marketing, and public relations, as well as overseeing overall U.S. operations.

The founding partner of Pond, Nimesh Limbasia, originally from the UK, is an entrepreneur and former investment banker, with experience of building businesses in both the U.S. and the U.K., as well as India. Another partner is Robert Peirce, a former British Consul General in Los Angeles and founder of BritWeek Inc., with many years of experience helping British companies in California. The firm has a broad network of business leaders and professionals, expert in building businesses and particularly in the issues and opportunities associated with businesses coming to the U.S. from the U.K.

The United States is a large and lucrative market and the language and other similarities with the United Kingdom add to the attraction for British companies. The US market is very different from the UK, and business culture is also very different.
