Coverys Announces New Reimbursement Program for Policyholders Joining Patient Safety Organizations (PSO)
Boston, MA (PRWEB) May 19, 2015 -- Coverys, a leading provider of medical professional liability insurance and related services, announced today that it will be providing partial reimbursement of annual membership fees paid by eligible policyholders who join a certified Patient Safety Organization (PSO). This new program is offered in support of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) priority to make healthcare safer and to acknowledge the important contribution of AHRQ’s Patient Safety Organization (PSO) Program in helping healthcare organizations and providers improve patient safety.
PSOs serve as independent, external experts who collect, analyze, and aggregate local, regional and national data that is given privileged and confidential protections pursuant to federal law. The ability to work with large amounts of data allows a PSO to develop insights into the underlying causes of patient safety events and to develop more reliable information on how best to improve patient safety.
Under Coverys’ plan, eligible insureds who join a PSO will receive reimbursement of 50 percent of their annual membership fee (up to $5,000) as long as the PSO is certified by AHRQ and listed with the Department of Health and Human Services.
