Kurgo Sponsors Four Adventurers and their Dogs for the Trip of a Lifetime
Salisbury, Mass. (PRWEB) May 21, 2015 -- Kurgo, the pet adventure experts, today announced four winners of the “Live Your Kurgo Adventure” contest, giving these lucky dog owners the opportunity to experience once-in-a-lifetime adventures with their dogs. Selected from hundreds of amazing and inspiring submissions from all over the country, the four winners will each receive a $5,000 sponsorship to support their adventure, as well as being fully outfitted with Kurgo products to support their excursions. Kurgo’s four “Live Your Kurgo Adventure” winners are:
- Daniel Spangler and Spanky - Marine Veteran Daniel Spangler and Spanky, his Norwegian Duck Tolling Retriever, will be walking, riding, flying and otherwise making their way by any means possible from coast to coast. The main purpose of their adventure is to raise awareness and funds for Operation Keep Your Spanky, a program that provides financial assistance to veterans to keep their beloved animal companions.
- Jen Sotolongo and Sora –Proving that it is possible to bike with your dog, Jen Sotolongo her partner Dave Hoch and their Australian Shepherd Sora, are off on a year-long bicycle tour through Europe and beyond. To enjoy the world, away from the typical 9-5 lifestyle, they will depart from Portland, Oregon and arrive in Oslo, Norway, to begin their human-powered journey through several European nations, including Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Serbia, Macedonia and Turkey.
- Alyssa Pelletier and Hilde – This summer and fall, Alyssa Pelletier, her partner Will Hitchcock and their Bernese Mountain Dog Hilde, will set off on the Great American Road Trip in the West, in a full-sized school bus that they recently renovated. While camping, mountain biking, backcountry hiking and rock climbing through Northern California, Oregon, Washington, Canada, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and Utah, they will be checking out dog friendly wilderness areas and reporting back on the best adventures that they find for pups.
- Heather Balogh and Tally - This fall, Heather Balogh and her soon-to-be husband Will Rochfort along with their Australian Shepard mix Tally, will go on a honeymoon adventure following the foliage down the Rockies from Canada to Colorado. Their trek will be a series of micro-adventures including camping and backcountry hiking into remote wilderness areas while photographing the fall foliage.
