“Ride Home” Song to Benefit Service Members Traveling Home for the Holidays
(PRWEB) May 20, 2015 -- Songwriters Andy Westley and Colleen Webb announced today that all of the net proceeds from the sale of their song “Ride Home” will be donated to Jack Daniel’s Operation Ride Home, an Armed Services YMCA program that provides funding for our service members and their families to get back to their loved ones.
Westley, and his employer, Wirtz Beverage Group, have worked to raise money for Operation Ride Home over the last three years.
“The inspiration for the song came from the great work being done by this organization and we are proud to be donating the proceeds from the song to this wonderful cause,” said Andy Westley. “As we prepare to enjoy our Memorial Day holiday, hopefully the song will help Americans remember that our military families deserve to be together, and we all need to do everything we can to make that happen.”
“It speaks volumes that Andy was so touched by Operation Ride Home that he is using his extraordinary talent to give back,” said William D. French, ASYMCA President and CEO. “We are always moved by these gestures and proud to have the support of great Americans, like Andy, who recognize the impact this program makes for our service members and their families.”
The song, which is featured on the album by Andy Westley and Friends “It’s Not About Me,” was recorded by Westley (vocals) and Webb (acoustic guitar) along with Tom Roper (electric guitar), Mark Il Santo (bass), Dave Siegel (drums), and Katelyn Cohen (cello). It can be purchased on iTunes or at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/andywestleyandfriends for $0.99 (single) and $9.99 for the full album, and all the net proceeds from the song will be donated to Jack Daniel’s Operation Ride Home between now and the end of 2015.
