20th Gathering of the Vibes Celebration Adds VibeTribe Favorites and First-Timers
Bridgeport, CT (PRWEB) May 20, 2015 -- Two decades after a few Grateful Dead fanatics gathered to commemorate the life & music of Jerry Garcia, this community of like-minded souls prepare to celebrate their 20th summer together. “I’m thrilled to welcome 20,000+ family and friends to party down by the sea side on our 20th anniversary,” says Ken Hays, self-proclaimed Deadhead and founder of the Gathering of the Vibes festival.
Added to the already impressive Vibes 2015 line-up is VibeTribe favorite, Warren Haynes, playing two sets. Warren joins forces with an extraordinary ensemble of musicians for a super jam aptly named the “Vibes 20th Anniversary Spectacular”. Members of the “Seaside All-Stars include: the versatile classical and jazz saxophonist, Branford Marsalis; Legendary bassist and founding member of progenitors of funk, The Meters, George Porter, Jr.; Joe Russo, nicknamed “The Madness” for his fierce and complex drumming style; Marco Benevento – the keyboard half of the Benevento Russo Duo – will bring his instrumental rock/experimental jazz sound; and exceptionally gifted guitarist, and former member of the Black Crowes, Jackie Greene rounds out the session.
“Over the years, I’ve always enjoyed helping to plant a musical seed, a concept, and then watch it develop onstage into a unique and inspired artistic creation. Something that happens only once by joining musical legends with extraordinary talents can ignite a spark that so rarely is seen,” says Hays.
In total, Gathering of the Vibes will host nearly fifty bands over four days on multiple stages located throughout the beautiful 370-acre historic Seaside Park along the Long Island Sound.
“We’ll be hosting four members of the much-loved & respected Allman Brothers Band this summer…Gregg Allman, Derek Trucks, Jaimoe Johanson, and now Warren Haynes,” beams Hays. “We’re going to have a whole lot of fun down by the sea side!”
Music is just a part of the fun at Gathering of the Vibes. Attendees can shop for one-of-a-kind crafts, learn about ways to make a positive difference in the Non-Profit Village, get a bird’s eye view from atop the Ferris Wheel, or simply stroll along the beach enjoying the warm summer breeze.
Gathering of the Vibes is a family friendly event, offering an exclusive Family Camping area, Kids Corner and Teen Scene, Peace Parade, and a "School of Rock Teen Vibes Stage," featuring musical instruction and jam sessions with Main Stage artists.
Tickets are available for the full weekend with onsite camping, and VIP ticket holders enjoy added perks: expedited entry, “Rock-star” parking with easy in/out access, prime camping areas, snacks and beverages, catered meals, air conditioned bathroom trailers, and hot showers.
