Project Leadership Associates Appoints Rich Lilly as Director of Sales Engineering
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) May 21, 2015 -- Today, Project Leadership Associates (PLA) announced that it has appointed Rich Lilly to a new role as the Director of Sales Engineering. Prior to this promotion, Rich held the position of Practice Director for PLA’s Advanced Infrastructure Services (AIS) group. Now as the Director of Sales Engineering, he will be tasked with building and managing a national team of pre-sales engineering resources to support PLA’s business development efforts.
Alan Bratton, Chief Executive Officer of Project Leadership Associates stated, “The information technology (IT) landscape continues to change at a rapid pace with the adoption of cloud solutions, enterprise mobility, security needs and new business applications. By developing a sales engineering team within PLA we will be better equipped to help guide customers through these changes and enrich their buying experience by providing technical guidance throughout the sales process. This will also enhance information dissemination to the project managers and delivery team members.”
With regard to Rich Lilly being the right candidate for the job, Bratton added, “The position requires natural leadership qualities, a wide breadth of technical knowledge and the ability to share that knowledge in a manner that is understandable at all levels of an organization. Rich epitomizes these qualities and many more which made him the right fit for the role and the perfect choice for our organization.”
Rich has 15 years of experience in the IT industry and he has been with PLA for the last 5 years, making him a tremendous asset to the organization. His knowledge is far-reaching, including storage, server consolidation, public/private/hybrid cloud solutions, and datacenter. Some of Rich’s most recent high-profile projects include identity and MDM compete scenarios, VMware to Hyper-V migrations, large Windows Server 2003 end of support assessments and IT infrastructure/process assessments.
Rich has also served as a Microsoft Virtual Technology Specialist (V-TSP) for the last 3 years. V-TSP’s are chosen by Microsoft to be an extension of their team because of their superior architectural, development, consulting and customer interfacing skills to provide architectural guidance for enterprise integration solutions to Microsoft customers. In his new role as Director of Sales Engineering, Rich’s deep technical background will enhance his ability to act as a customer advocate and identify the right solution and integration needs when engaging his team.
When asked about his new role, Rich Lilly commented, “As PLA’s new Director of Sales Engineering, I look forward to providing support to our business development team to help customers align the correct solution and vision to meet their business needs. My goal is to increase project velocity and help streamline the transition from sales to our PMO and delivery teams. I will continue to work closely with our strategic partners to identify cross-selling opportunities and build stronger customer relationships.”
