Crawford Entertainment Releasing New TV Series Telling Kids to Be Outsiders
Lake Mary, Florida (PRWEB) May 26, 2015 -- From the producers of the “How to Do Florida with Chad Crawford” TV series comes a new series geared toward reconnecting today’s kids to the outdoor world around them.
“The Outsiders Club” is a fast-paced 30-minute program starring four kids whose adventures exploring nature, and even the kitchen, model ways to pursue a healthier and more active nature-connected lifestyle. The show will premier June 2015 on TV broadcast stations across Florida.
"Kids today are so over-stimulated with devices and indoor comforts that being outside looks pretty boring,” said show creator and producer Chad Crawford. “Our goal was to put a new face on being outside and make it look cool...like a place they want to be.”
The series is an outgrowth of the passion Crawford has for the outdoors he learned as a child growing up in Florida.
“Like many parents today, I grew up outside,” said Crawford, a father of four children. “It can be a challenge to get our kids to want to go outside. My hope is that this series will be a catalyst to get kids excited about what’s out there.”
Each show features an outdoor adventure – such as sailing, camping, or hiking – where a “kid expert” shows the young hosts how to do it. There’s also an outdoor-related project that kids can do, such as build a zipline or a reptile cage. A trip to the “Fuel Lab” shows how to make healthy food and teaches that “food is fuel” for the energy they need to have fun outside. One of the show’s major sponsors is the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, and their chef’s Justin Timineri and Paula Kendrick star in the kitchen.
Facing the realities of today’s society and technology, Crawford says the series will not bash technology but challenge kids to use it “for what it’s good for such as finding things to do, not just for watching others do things.” The program itself is embracing the interactive world with a Facebook page, Instagram account and website, where kids can “take the pledge” to become an Outsider.
“The Outsiders Club” is produced by Crawford Entertainment, a production company based in Lake Mary, Florida that creates, develops and produces original themed television series and specials for regional and national television syndication and cable networks.
